Our Tuesday Morning Drama Club is exclusively for children attending St John’s C of E School in Lacey Green, from Reception to Year 6.
Through drama games, storytelling, improvisation and creative performance activities, children can build confidence, communication and creativity in a fun, supportive environment — all before the school day begins.

What Happens at Drama Club?
Each week is different, with fun, age-appropriate activities designed to get children thinking, moving, imagining and working together.

No previous drama or performing arts experience is needed — everyone is welcome.
More Than Just Drama
Drama gives children the opportunity to practise valuable skills including communication, listening, teamwork, creativity and problem-solving while having fun.
These skills can support children both in the classroom and in everyday life.
Supporting Skills for School
Drama naturally supports many of the skills children use throughout the school day, including communication, listening, creativity, teamwork and expressing ideas confidently.
Through playful activities and working with others, children can practise these skills in a relaxed environment before heading into class.
How Morning Drop-Off Works
Simply bring your child to school reception by 8:10am, where they’ll be welcomed ready for Drama Club.
Children are supervised throughout the session. At the end of the club, Reception and Year 1 children are escorted to their classrooms, while older children safely transition into the school day with their classmates.
Parents can then get on with their morning knowing their child is safely supervised and already settled into school.
A Supportive Approach
Every child is different. Some can’t wait to join in, while others need a little more time to feel comfortable.
We never pressure children to perform before they’re ready. Instead, we use fun, encouragement and achievable challenges to help each child build confidence at their own pace.
Most importantly, we want children to leave Drama Club feeling happy, included and proud of themselves.

Does my child need any previous drama experience?
No. Drama Club is suitable for complete beginners as well as children who already enjoy acting and performing.
Can Drama Club help build my child’s confidence?
Drama can be a wonderful way for children to gradually develop confidence through creativity, teamwork and positive encouragement.
Every child is different, so we encourage them at their own pace without pressure to perform before they feel ready.
How does morning drop-off work?
Please bring your child to school reception by 8:10am. They’ll be welcomed ready for the session and supervised throughout.
At the end of Drama Club, younger children are escorted to their classrooms and older children transition into the school day with their classmates.
Can my child try Drama Club first?
Yes. Your child is very welcome to come along for a trial session so they can experience Drama Club before you decide whether to continue.
