Rising Stars (Ages 6–9)
Saturdays 10.20am - 11.50am
Our Rising Stars classes are designed for children aged 6–9 who are ready to build confidence, develop new skills and discover a love of performing arts in a fun, supportive environment.
Based at St John's C of E School in Lacey Green near Princes Risborough, these exciting weekly classes combine drama, dance and musical theatre, giving children the opportunity to explore a wide range of performing arts while making friends, growing in confidence and having lots of fun.
Whether your child already loves performing or is taking their very first steps into the world of drama and dance, Rising Stars offers the perfect balance of structured learning, creativity and encouragement in a welcoming environment where every child can shine.
What happens in a Rising Stars class?
Every week, children enjoy dedicated sessions in drama, dance and musical theatre, with each lesson carefully planned to develop new skills while keeping learning engaging, creative and enjoyable.
🎭 Drama
Children develop their acting skills through imaginative games, improvisation, storytelling, character work and scripted scenes. As well as learning performance techniques, they build communication skills, confidence, creativity and the ability to express themselves in front of others.
💃 Dance
Our dance classes introduce children to a wide variety of dance styles throughout the year, helping them become confident, versatile performers. Styles may include:
- Ballet
- Lyrical
- Contemporary
- Street Dance
- Modern Theatre
- Commercial
- Jazz
By exploring different dance styles, children develop coordination, rhythm, flexibility, musicality, strength and performance skills while discovering the styles they enjoy most. Lessons are energetic, varied and designed to inspire a lifelong love of dance.
🎵 Musical Theatre
Children combine singing, acting and movement to bring songs and stories to life, developing stage presence, performance confidence and teamwork while having plenty of fun along the way.
Every lesson is carefully planned to be age-appropriate, engaging and encouraging, helping children grow in confidence while learning valuable performing arts skills.

Building confidence through performing arts
At All Access Performing Arts, we believe the skills children gain extend far beyond the stage.
Through drama, dance and musical theatre, children naturally develop:
- Confidence and self-belief
- Communication and presentation skills
- Creativity and imagination
- Teamwork and cooperation
- Listening and concentration
- Coordination and body awareness
- Resilience and problem-solving
- Performance and public speaking skills
These valuable life skills help children both in school and in everyday life, giving them confidence that lasts well beyond the classroom.
A varied and exciting curriculum
Unlike classes that focus on just one discipline or dance style, Rising Stars gives children the opportunity to experience a broad range of performing arts every week.
By combining drama, musical theatre and multiple dance styles including ballet, lyrical, contemporary, street, modern theatre, commercial and jazz, children become well-rounded performers while discovering the styles and skills they enjoy most.
Our varied curriculum keeps every term fresh and exciting, introducing new themes, routines, characters and performance opportunities throughout the year.
A supportive approach for every child
Every child learns differently, and we celebrate that.
Some children can't wait to perform, while others need a little more time to build confidence. Our experienced teaching approach ensures every child feels valued, included and encouraged from their very first class.
We never pressure children to perform before they're ready. Instead, we gently nurture their confidence through positive encouragement, achievable challenges and celebrating every success—big or small.
Watching children grow in confidence is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.
Perform, progress and shine
Throughout the year, children have exciting opportunities to perform in showcases, demonstrations and special public events, allowing them to celebrate everything they've learned in front of supportive family and friends.
For children who would like to take their skills even further, there may also be opportunities to work towards LAMDA examinations, developing acting and communication skills while gaining nationally recognised qualifications.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does my child need previous experience?
Not at all! Rising Stars welcomes complete beginners as well as children who have attended performing arts classes before.
Can my child choose which subjects they attend?
Yes! We understand that every child is different, which is why our classes are completely flexible.
Children can choose to attend Drama, Dance or Musical Theatre individually for £5 per class, combine any two subjects, or enjoy the full performing arts experience by attending all three classes for just £13.
This allows your child to focus on the areas they already love or explore all three disciplines to become a confident, well-rounded performer. Many children enjoy experiencing the variety that drama, dance and musical theatre offer, while others prefer to specialise in one or two areas – the choice is entirely yours.
What dance styles do you teach?
Our dance classes introduce children to a wide variety of styles throughout the year, including ballet, lyrical, contemporary, street dance, modern theatre, commercial and jazz. This varied approach helps children become confident, versatile dancers while discovering the styles they enjoy most.
My child is quite shy. Will they enjoy it?
Absolutely. Many children join us feeling nervous at first. We create a warm, supportive environment where every child is encouraged at their own pace and celebrated for their progress. We never pressure children to perform before they're ready, and it's wonderful to watch their confidence grow week by week.
